How to make your first affiliate marketing sale this week

How to make your first affiliate marketing sale this week?

Isn't that what we all, as affiliate marketers, want to know?

Let me give you some tips that might help you get your first sale this week.

But first things first...

The origin of this question

Josh Spector, who helps creative entrepreneurs grow their audience and business and someone I follow on Twitter.

In one of his tweets, he asked, "Tell me who your target audience is and what they want. I'll give you an idea for a blog post or tweet thread you can create that they'll love."

Of course, I could not resist answering. ?

Some tips that might help you get your first sale this week.

Target audience

You will address a need for a product or service to a specific group of people–your audience.

Relevant content & Related products

You write a lot of content that applies to reach out to your audience.

When choosing products to promote on your website, they need to apply to your audience (your group of people you want help solve their problems or needs)

Let's look at an example of the pet industry, more specifically the cats.

While the cat's niche is still broad, you could have narrowed it down to "litter boxes for cats".

You will therefore focus your content on different litter boxes, litters to use, and so on, all related to the litter boxes for cats.

Your audience (visitors to your website) are those that look for information about just that litter boxes for cats.

So it would be normal to find products on your website that promote litter boxes for cats.

Promoting cat collars isn't.

While it is related to the cat industry, it isn't relevant to your audience who came for info about how to choose litter boxes and keep it a safe place for their cat.

The chance that you will earn affiliate commissions on those non related products is next to zero.

Product reviews

You are in the business of helping people find a solution to their needs.

Writing product reviews is a brilliant way to do that.

You’re assessing someone’s execution of their vision or product of their hard work.

So be genuine in expressing your opinion and aim to be objective in your assessment of the product.

Build an email list

List building is all about connecting with your target audience by offering them high-quality information in exchange for their subscription.

Once a subscriber is a confirmed member of your list, you can begin sending promotional based follow up emails in balance with relevant and useful content based on your overall market.

Share with the world

A way to get raving fans is the use of social sharing.

No, it is not a luxury but a necessity if you want to build an audience that visits your website on a regular base.

To stand out in that crowd of over 1.5 billion websites on the world wide web you need to reach out to those over 4.5 billion internet users.

And one of those ways is sharing your content on social media.

You don't need to be everywhere. Just choose one or two and go really deep into them.

Learn to do them really well before (and if you will) moving onto the next one.

Educate yourself & learn from your mistakes.

You don’t need to BE an expert; you BECOME an expert.

Starting a business is following a set of instructions and processes, implementing them… and that takes time.

Learn from your mistakes.

This makes a person or business grow and become more successful.

All the best,

Luc
