The Fisherman
It horrified a wealthy factory owner to see a fisherman lying lazily beside his boat and smoking a cigarette.
"Why are you not fishing?" Asked the factory owner. "Because I've caught enough fish for today," the fisherman said.
The man: "Why do you not catch a few more?"
The fisherman: "Why should I ?"
"You could make more money" was the reply. "You could buy a new motor for your boat so you can go even further into the sea and catch more fish. Then you would earn even more money ;enough to buy nylon nets which would bring more fish and more money.
Soon you would have enough money to own two boats ... maybe a whole fleet. Then you would be a rich man like me. "
"What would I do?" Said the fisherman. "Then you could really enjoy life," said the factory owner.
"And what do you think I'm doing now?" The fisherman replied.
Moral of the story :
"We're so busy watching out for what's just ahead of us that we don't take time to enjoy where we are" (Bill Watterson)
Don't get me wrong. If your goal is to achieve (financial) freedom in life you have to work hard to get it. Such does not happen overnight unless you win the lottery.
Get up every morning with a burning desire, work to get it and then value it once you have it. Every day....
But....
Do you also take a moment to enjoy the things you have already ?
We can't stop time or take moments back. Life doesn't work that way, does it?
Life is to be enjoyed, not just endured.
Do anything, but let it produce joy in your life.
Let me know in the comment section what it is you enjoy that you have already.
All the best,
Luc
