What are you willing to do to succeed in business?
Many people are looking for how to make money online. But what many people fail to see is that it takes time and hard work before you succeed in business online.
What are you willing to do to succeed in business online?
A brief story
A student requested a personal interview with her teacher. She came in a short skirt and a blouse with a low neckline. She told the teacher that she wanted to do everything to get a good grade. The teacher asked: "Everything?" "Yes!" said the girl. The teacher then asked if she had already planned anything for that evening. "No," the girl said. The teacher looked at her happily and said, "Well, I would study hard tonight if I were you."
Usually, shortcuts aren’t shortcuts
So many people want their online business to be an overnight success. They want to see the growth spurt occurring and they want it to happen straight away. Maybe they work for a week or two and when there is no money coming in they say "This doesn't work", "it's a scam" or "I can't do it" and just give up.
All those successful people out there, do you think their businesses were an overnight success? Of course not. They all worked long, hard hours to build their business. They followed training on proven systems that work, put it into action and learned new skills. Many of them have shared what they learned along the way.
"The dictionary is the only place that success comes before work” – Vince Lombardi
Are you willing to pay the price of success?
It means you are willing to get fully engaged and focused on your goals and take massive action to reach them.
It doesn't mean that other people can't help you (they can). It doesn't mean that you won't experience setbacks (you will).
It doesn't mean that there aren't times when you won't be tempted to compromise your goal (getting distracted from your goal with shiny object offers) Because they will tempt you to do many times.
Swing for the fences
Warren Buffett, a dear friend of Bill Gates, put it a little more colorfully. When he donated the bulk of his fortune to his foundation and joined him as a partner in its work, he urged them to “swing for the fences.”
That’s a phrase many Americans will recognize from baseball. When you swing for the fences, you’re putting every ounce of strength into hitting the ball as far as possible. You know that your bat might miss the ball entirely—but that if you make contact, the rewards can be huge.
To end...
Building our businesses can be hard at the beginning when it seems like you are doing a lot of work for no return. The lack of apparent progress can be demoralizing.
But if you are the victim of the “shiny object syndrome”; read get rich quick overnight, then you only find those scammers who only empty your pockets instead of giving you financial freedom.
All the best,
Luc

As someone who has often been sidetracked by the shiny object syndrome, I found this article very much on-point. Its wisdom is important in many aspects of life, but certainly in business. Thanks, Luc.
I’m glad you liked it, Elizabeth 🙂
Your article is unbelievably beautiful. Thanks for sharing this post with everyone. This post is very important for those who want to succeed with an online business.
I agree with you, doing business online requires hard work. I really liked reading your post. I’ve been doing affiliate marketing online for over a year. The beginning was not really easy. I have been successful through hard work. I’m making money.
I believe that an online business can be successful.
Yes, if you follow a step by step plan outlined in a training you will make money like you did. Thanks for your comment Tasmia. 🙂
Loved the funny intro story and it applies to many situations, in this case the naughty student who would do anything for a good grade. When it comes to success, being it online or not, if you are to achieve it, it will require hard work and a lot of it. Shortcuts will never work, and most of the times they will only take you back to step 1 of your 1000 steps to success. Thanks for sharing!
Exactly my thought, Afonso. Thanks for your comment 🙂
